Julia Michaels Released The Official Video For ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ Soundtrack|Music

julia-michaels-heaven-billboard-1548

I don’t know about you, but I’m so looking forward to watching Fifty Shades Freed, as I’m curious to see how the film is different than the book (and I must admit I like Dakota Johnson; she is one of the reasons I liked the previous films).

I’m interested to see if this year’s film will have some strong and fascinating soundtracks. Up to today, there were released videos for the collaboration between Rita Ora and Liam Payne for the song For You and Hailee Steinfeld featuring BloodPop for the song Capital Letters. I wasn’t impressed until I saw the video released by Julia Michaels for Heaven.

I must confess, I’m also a fan of this song as it is catchy as hell. Julia has also a captivating voice, while the sound of the song is quite unique.

Watch below the official video released by Julia Michaels for Heaven:

‘The Greatest Showman’-This Is The Greatest Show |Movie Review

the-greatest-showman-hugh-jackman-vogue-september-issue-2017

The Greatest Showman is a 2017 Musical that is starring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Zac Efron and Rebecca Ferguson. It is directed by Michael Gracey (most known for Naruto and Ned Kelly).

A synopsis for this film reads: “Orphaned, penniless but ambitious and with a mind crammed with imagination and fresh ideas, the American Phineas Taylor Barnum will always be remembered as the man with the gift to effortlessly blur the line between reality and fiction. Thirsty for innovation and hungry for success, the son of a tailor will manage to open a wax museum but will soon shift focus to the unique and peculiar, introducing extraordinary, never-seen-before live acts on the circus stage. Some will call Barnum’s wide collection of oddities, a freak show; however, when the obsessed for cheers and respectability showman gambles everything on the opera singer Jenny Lind to appeal to a high-brow audience, he will somehow lose sight of the most important aspect of his life: his family. Will Barnum risk it all to be accepted?”

I would like to start of by saying that this film had a bit of everything and it was moving, upbeat, and romantic. I really can’t say enough good things about it. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, and Zendaya are all so talented. The acting, the original music, the singing, and the imagination are all fantastic. Well done to the cast, crew and Michael Gracey for putting together a phenomenally entertaining and captivating film. Don’t listen to the critics, go and see this movie. The soundtrack is so brilliant and original: my personal favourite songs are This Is Me, A Million Dreams, Never Enough, Rewrite The Stars, Greatest Show and From Now On. I couldn’t believe how well Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya sounded on their tracks. By the way, all the songs from the motion picture are now available to stream on Spotify.

The Greatest Showman is an uplifting, joyous experience that we all need, nowadays more than ever. The musical numbers are really impressive and the plot, while not historically accurate is heartfelt and engrossing. It is a film that can be enjoyed by anyone and a perfect watch for the whole family. And the greatest satisfaction is that you feel wonderful at the end! Within the film, an entertainment critic who describes Mr. Barnum’s offerings as “a circus of humbug” asks whether it bothers him that all he offers is fake. Barnum, referring to his customers, replies, “Do their smiles look fake?” No, they don’t – nor do the ones in the theater. And those smiles are reaffirmed through the round of applause that many audiences bestow upon the film at its conclusion.

This film deserves a rating of 10 out of 10 ! It is simply amazing !

‘Battle Of The Sexes’ Is Highly Entertaining |Movie Review

Battle-of-the-Sexes-TIFF-2017

Battle Of The Sexes is a 2017 Biography/Comedy/Drama film that is starring Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Elisabeth Shue, Andrea Riseborough, Natalie Morales and Sarah Silverman. It is directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (both of them are known for directing Little Miss Sunshine and Ruby Sparks). A synopsis for this film via IMDb reads: “The true story of the 1973 tennis match between World number one Billie Jean King and ex-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs”.

This is based on a true story that helped change women’s rights in sports and jump start the sexual revolution-at the time, women were being paid about 1/8th of what men were.It took place in 1973 in the Houston Astrodome. Emma plays Billie Jean King-at 29 years old-the reigning women’s tennis champion. Steve-at 55 years old-is the chauvinistic men’s champ that makes big spectacles when he is on the tennis court-dresses in costumes and makes remarks like ‘Women belong in the kitchen and the bedroom!’. Steve brags that he can beat Emma and gets his chance on national TV to put his racket where his mouth is.

The movie also goes into the personal lives of both players, one is a gambling addict and the other is dealing with sexual identity issues. Battle Of The Sexes is an old fashioned, sensitive, crowd pleasing film that never feels outdated. When I watched this film I had a feeling that it was a documentary. Battle Of The Sexes isn’t just about tennis, but the universal fight to be freed from the shackles of outdated societal values. Despite the sport movie clichés, the filmmakers manage to find space for moments of real sensitivity; Billy Jean’s self-exploration or Bobby consoling his wife, the tension is felt on both sides.

Considering how many high-profile male politicians and public figures have been rightly criticized for their attitude towards women, the film could’ve taken a step to make Bobby Riggs a real chauvinistic monster. Credit to Carrell and Beaufoy for not descending Riggs into a caricature; he’s clown, showman and compulsive gambler who you may perversely believe that he helped Women’s Tennis Association in stature. I thought the script was brilliant, having some memorable lines and the acting of the main actors, Stone and Carrell was high class. I really appreciated also the performances of Sarah Silverman and Andrea Riseborough, who played an important role in the development of the story.

Battle Of The Sexes is a film that is highly entertaining. It will make you laugh and reflect on some aspects of life. Towards the end of the movie you will be cheering for Billie Jean King and become attached to this character. The 70s soundtrack was a great addition to the otherwise great score. The screenplay was fine, although it was a bit too straight forward at times as was the direction, but at least very effective. There were some slow moments but maybe only for someone who is not really into tennis (though the match scenes were really exciting due to the drama).

I think that Battle Of The Sexes is a film not to be missed. If I were to give it a mark it would be an 8 out of 10. I believe everyone will enjoy this movie. Battle Of The Sexes is out in cinemas everywhere ! Here’s a preview of what you can expect:

taylor swift ready for it

It’s not long now until Taylor Swift will release her new album, Reputation (release date: 10 November), but in the meantime the artist released a new video for her second single …Ready For It?

The track has hit the Internet on 3rd September, but now it has a video, which is quite spectacular. It’s almost like a film. Shame it lasts only 3 minutes and a half. The video has scenes that remind you instantly of Sci-Fi films like Blade RunnerGhost In The Shell and Prometheus.

…Ready For It? video comes a week after Taylor released her 3rd single Gorgeous.

I’ll leave you now to watch the video. Hope you’ll enjoy it:

Just 3 days before my birthday, Taylor Swift has released a new song called Gorgeous. It’s a cool song with an interesting sound. Reminds me a bit of Blank Space in terms of sound. The lyrics are so clever and work well with the melody. I’m so looking forward to listening to all the songs from her new album, Reputation, that comes out on November 10.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Is Entertaining, But Not As Good As Its Predecessor |Movie Review

Kingsman the golden circle

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a 2017 Action/Adventure/Comedy film that is starring Taron Egerton, Channing Tatum, Colin Firth, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Mark Strong. It is directed by Matthew Vaughn (who directed the first Kingsman film as well as Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class). A synopsis for this film via IMDb reads: “When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, the Kingsman’s journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy”.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle has something for everyone who has been a fan of the franchise. There is plenty of action, humor and special effects and I must say visually it’s very impressive. I keep wondering why the film hasn’t been shown in 3D. I think it would have been amazing. The plot is decent, especially for a sequel, but it never quite reaches the same level as the first film. The British/American theme works well and there are some very funny cultural jokes and references.

I am a fan of Kingsman; I had looked forward to watching The Golden Circle and I’m pleased that the sequel didn’t disappoint. It sticks to everything that made the first movie such a success, including taking some big risks and thinking out of the box. The end result is an imperfect and at times messy film, but a rewarding and highly entertaining one nonetheless. Julianne Moore is a great addition as the villain, and I absolutely loved the scene where Merlin sings John Denver‘s Take Me Home, Country Roads. It was funny and sad at the same time.

I can’t hide that I have a thing for Hanna Alström, who plays Princess Tilde and I was happy to see that her story had a happy ending. I hope there are going to be more Kingsman films in the future. It was great to see Halle Berry again in a big production, as I think she is a great actress. If I were to rate this film it would get a 7 out of 10. It is entertaining enough, but not as good as its predecessor. Go and watch it and judge for yourself.

‘Victoria And Abdul’ Has A Great Story|Movie Review

victoria and abdul

Victoria And Abdul is a 2017 Biography/Drama/History film that is starring Judi Dench, Ali Fazal, Eddie Izzard, Michael Gambon and Adeel Akhtar. It is directed by Stephen Frears (most known for High Fidelity, The Queen and Philomena). A synopsis for Victoria And Abdul via IMDb reads: “Queen Victoria strikes up an unlikely friendship with a young Indian clerk named Abdul Karim”.

I was immediately drawn in and pleasantly surprised by the story. The fact that the film is a biography made the story even sweeter. Judy Dench‘s acting was flawless, but by far the biggest revelation was Ali Fazal, who put in a wonderful performance from comedic through emotionally intense. I found it interesting that the film tackles an issue that is relevant to today’s society as well: the racism. I was sad to see how Abdul and his wife were treated, but this has also made me realize that racism was always present in society and it will never disappear.

The story line is fantastic and it flows beautifully. The bond between Queen Victoria and Abdul Karim has to be one of the most unusual as well as greatest friendships in history. The soft and innocent friendship was enjoyable to watch from the dance scene to the walk shared in Florence. The film is a window into an interesting and rich part of history. It shed light on events that were unknown till 2010 and quite fascinating to learn and watch. The movie has nice doses of humor here and there to liven the film up. It was the meeting of two different worlds, on one side an aged ruler and on the other a low level simpleton who connected on a humane level,

Victoria And Abdul has to be one of the best motion pictures I’ve seen this year. If I were to rate this film it would get a 9 out of 10. It is a movie that can be enjoyed by everyone. I highly recommend it !
