‘Tag’-You’re It | Movie Review

Tag is a 2018 comedy starring Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb, Hannibal Buress, Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner. It is directed by Jeff Tomsic (most known for producing I’m Having A Difficult Time Killing My Parents and This Is Not Happening). A synopsis for this film via IMDb reads: “A small group of former classmates organize an elaborate, annual game of tag that requires some to travel all over the country”.

First of all, this is not a comedy for everyone. You’ll definitely enjoy it more if you’re a fan of Ed Helms and Hannibal Buress. I absolutely love these guys and for me, they made this film funny as hell, especially with their funny lines. There is a quote in the film that I really like and it goes like this: We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing. I felt like the whole action of the movie is based on this quote. I really liked the idea of some grown-ass men playing tag, in a time we’re all obsessed with technology and forget to pay attention to our friends.

I was pleasantly surprised how funny this film was! I mean, I expected it to be funny after seeing the trailer, but not this funny! I haven’t laughed so hard in a while and I believe that it had the right ingredients of a great comedy – it is rude, crude and funny! This film is all about excellent acting, great direction and wonderful editing. The plot is not that strong but again it’s a comedy so you shouldn’t expect it to be rocket science. I honestly can say that I was never bored while watching Tag.

I liked the chemistry between the characters played by Isla Fisher and Ed Helms, although they’re not very believable as a couple. As for Jeremy Renner, I’m more used to seeing him in action films, but he was the right choice for this film, him playing the character who has never been tagged. Will he remain the undefeated champion of this game? You’ll find out the answer by watching this film.

I hope I gave you enough reasons to go and watch Tag at the cinema. It is out now ! If you want to have a sneak-peak here’s the official trailer:

An Honest #Review Of #AvengersInfinityWar’ |#MovieReview

Avengers: Infinity War is a 2018 Action/Adventure/Fantasy film starring Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Brie Larson, Elizabeth Olsen, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Bradley Cooper, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Rudd, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Benicio Del Toro, Paul Bettany, Mark Ruffalo and Sean Gunn. It is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (most known for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and  Captain America: Civil War). A synopsis for this film via IMDB reads: “As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.

So I watched this film in IMAX, on the weekend it came out in Romania, and I must confess that it was madness at the cinema. The screen was full of people, fans of the Marvel universe, and especially of the Avengers. Some even had merchandise with the film’s heroes. In my opinion, the movie is not that great and inspiring like Black Panther is, but it’s one of the best of the Avengers films. The special effects were top notch and it can be easily seen that this was made with 3D and IMAX technologies in mind. So to really enjoy this film, I would recommend that you watch it in 3D and IMAX. You’ll definitely have a good time. You can thank me later 😉

It was cool to see all the heroes of the Marvel Universe (Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Black Panther and so on), all fighting to stop the bad guy Thanos (who is an excellent villain) destroying the world and the human kind. Big up for the Romanian actor Sebastian Stan, who made me proud to be a Romanian. His acting was impeccable throughout the Avengers series. The ending of this film is quite disappointing not knowing the fate of our heroes and leaving the viewer with many unanswered questions. I guess a good film keeps you wanting for more and Avengers: Infinity War does just that.

This was a film worth to be rated with 8 out of 10. If you’re an Avengers fan, you’ll surely enjoy Infinity War. Avengers: Infinity War is out in cinemas everywhere !

Here’s a trailer to show you what you can expect from this film:
