The Greatest Showman is a 2017 Musical that is starring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Zac Efron and Rebecca Ferguson. It is directed by Michael Gracey (most known for Naruto and Ned Kelly).

A synopsis for this film reads: “Orphaned, penniless but ambitious and with a mind crammed with imagination and fresh ideas, the American Phineas Taylor Barnum will always be remembered as the man with the gift to effortlessly blur the line between reality and fiction. Thirsty for innovation and hungry for success, the son of a tailor will manage to open a wax museum but will soon shift focus to the unique and peculiar, introducing extraordinary, never-seen-before live acts on the circus stage. Some will call Barnum’s wide collection of oddities, a freak show; however, when the obsessed for cheers and respectability showman gambles everything on the opera singer Jenny Lind to appeal to a high-brow audience, he will somehow lose sight of the most important aspect of his life: his family. Will Barnum risk it all to be accepted?”

I would like to start of by saying that this film had a bit of everything and it was moving, upbeat, and romantic. I really can’t say enough good things about it. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, and Zendaya are all so talented. The acting, the original music, the singing, and the imagination are all fantastic. Well done to the cast, crew and Michael Gracey for putting together a phenomenally entertaining and captivating film. Don’t listen to the critics, go and see this movie. The soundtrack is so brilliant and original: my personal favourite songs are This Is Me, A Million Dreams, Never Enough, Rewrite The Stars, Greatest Show and From Now On. I couldn’t believe how well Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya sounded on their tracks. By the way, all the songs from the motion picture are now available to stream on Spotify.

The Greatest Showman is an uplifting, joyous experience that we all need, nowadays more than ever. The musical numbers are really impressive and the plot, while not historically accurate is heartfelt and engrossing. It is a film that can be enjoyed by anyone and a perfect watch for the whole family. And the greatest satisfaction is that you feel wonderful at the end! Within the film, an entertainment critic who describes Mr. Barnum’s offerings as “a circus of humbug” asks whether it bothers him that all he offers is fake. Barnum, referring to his customers, replies, “Do their smiles look fake?” No, they don’t – nor do the ones in the theater. And those smiles are reaffirmed through the round of applause that many audiences bestow upon the film at its conclusion.

This film deserves a rating of 10 out of 10 ! It is simply amazing !

‘The Girl On The Train’ Is Captivating | Movie Review

The Girl On The Train is a 112 minutes Thriller that was released on 5 October 2016. It is directed by Tate Taylor, mostly known for The Help (2011) and Get on Up (2014). The Girl On The Train is starring Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, Rebecca Ferguson, Justin Theroux and Luke Evans. A synopsis reads: “A divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life“.

Going to watch this film I had high hopes, especially after reading the book by Paula Hawkins and I must say that it turned out  to be a great film. From the first second, with the first word spoken , you are completely drawn by this movie. I felt that by watching this I  was using my brain almost like it was me inside the movie and I was attempting to solve the mystery that appeared right before my eyes.

This film has a lot of drama and suspense moments and the acting of Emily Blunt is high class. I feel that it’s  going to  be a shame if you miss this film..I genuinely felt sorry for the main character, Rachel, almost as for a friend of mine who is telling me a sad story.I believe that someone who hadn’t read the book will feel like they just dont’t want to blink before they got all the facts straight.

I highly recommend this film and I believe it’s best to watch it at night as it will make your time more interesting and it will give you a lot to talk over with your friends. Some parts of the movie could have been made better comparing to how the book is written. The Girl On The Train is not as good as Gone Girl, but still I feel this is worthy of your time.
